Jeff & Deej

Enjoy cruisy mainstream jazz standards, gentle swinging blues and beautiful ballads from this local acoustic duo.

Featuring the dynamic talents of Dorothy-Jane Gosper – Canberra’s “Blues and Jazz force of nature” (Rory McCartney, BMA Magazine) – whose husky contralto voice is “like a full-bodied red wine” and “mesmerising, it tells a story” (Regi Su, Get Shot Magazine).

Gosper has independently released seven albums over her 20 plus year career as a musician. She has played many Australasian jazz, blues and folk festivals, and is recognised nationally as a “remarkably talented blues-harp player” (Al Hensley, Rhythms Magazine). Her soloing is “hypnotic” and she makes her harmonica “strut like an alley cat!” (Rory McCartney, BMA Magazine).

Also an acoustic rhythm guitar player, Gosper makes way for Jeff Prime’s guitar prowess to shine.

Jeff’s background is steeped in the blues, evident in his superb resonator and acoustic guitar accompaniment and soloing.

Jeff and Dorothy-Jane are also song-writers. Six of their original songs are on the duo’s recently released debut album, “Blues By Candelight”. Their affinity for traditional blues is also apparent on the album, with standards dating back to the 1920’s.

The combined talents amount to a delightful, organic and sophisticated enigma that is Jeff & Deej.
