Doug Walters

Doug Walter’s popularity as one of Australia’s cricketing legends has continued long after his retirement from first class cricket. Throughout his career, Doug scored 5,357 Test runs. His highest score was 250 against New Zealand in 1977. He was awarded an MBE for his services to cricket in 1975 and in 2000, he was awarded an Australian Sports Medal, also in recognition for his services to cricket.
Today, Doug is till very much involved in cricket.
He participates in many social and charity matches and conducts coaching clinics for youngsters. Off the field, Doug was renowned for his humour and love of practical jokes. Doug is a modest man, with an interesting story to tell, even to a non-cricketer.
