Phil Lynch
Phil Lynch is one of Canberra’s best known faces. A former member of the national basketball squad, he made the transition to commentary to head up the sport’s coverage of four Olympic Games (Los Angeles, Seoul, Atlanta and Sydney), four World Championships (Spain, Canada, Greece and Australia) and the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
In more recent years Phil’s versatility has come to the fore as television anchor man of events as diverse as World Youth Day in Sydney to the HSBC Women’s Golf major in Singapore.
As Sports Editor for Prime Television Canberra, his relaxed but very professional style has earned praise as the compere of numerous major events – balls, dinners, lunches, launches, parades and events.
A man of many parts, Phil is a documentary producer, regularly travelling to developing countries as a contractor to the Australian Government aid agency, AusAID. Additionally he is one of Canberra’s leading real estate auctioneers, a skill often put to use when compering fund raising events.
He is very experienced as an MC in the conference and convention market, working closely with event managers at many major conventions throughout Australia and overseas including the Insurance Brokers National Association, Australian Trucking Association, Aged Care Association of Australia, Australian Hotels Association and Clubs ACT
